Ups and Downs of the Week.

Weather – Glorious late summer weather. Cool nights, warm days, blue skies. It’s about time. Aside from the nasty thunderstorms and tornado sightings yesterday, it’s all been good. And the rain yesterday was a good thing (could have done without the 63 MPH wind, though).

New Floor – The new floor downstairs went in yesterday. Now we need to move all the bookshelves back into place.

Ups and Downs of the Week.

Red Sox – Still playing well. Franklin Morales pitched a gem last night but the bullpen gave up one run, which was enough for the equally brilliant Felix Hernandez to take the win.

Health Care Law – The law has a lot of issues, but I’m glad it was not to be decided by the courts. Congress needs to do what it is supposed to do and come up with decent laws and programs and stop doing everything they can to thwart the other side of the aisle. Too bad we can’t pass a law to fix the idiots in Congress.

Heat Wave – Over 100F yesterday and today. Tomorrow is supposed to be the same. Yikes.

Ups and Downs of the Week

New Photo Website – I have so many pictures that it’s hard to use just this site to show them. So I created Sensor Perceptions to use as my photography showcase. Right now I only have a couple of galleries from our recent Las Vegas trip, but I’ll add more as I go along.

Pujols to the Angels – Now the Sox will be seeing a lot of him.

Verizon 4G – Talk about fast. I’ve seen download/upload speeds of 15/10 Mbps. Pretty impressive for wireless.

Ups and Downs of the Week

Patriots – Surprise, surprise. They handily beat the Jets and seem to have turned things around.

Vacation – One whole week off. I’m going to enjoy it.

Ups and Downs of the Week

Head colds – Ugh.

Lagunitas IPA – Crisp, hoppy, and just the right bitterness.

Fall Weather – Warmish days and gloriously cool nights. I love it.

Red Sox – They’re still losing. They’ve lost the last 3 series and aren’t looking too sharp against the TB Rays in this series. And the Rays are closing fast in the Wild Card standings. If the Sox don’t turn this around soon, they could rival the 2007 Mets for the biggest September collapse in recent memory.

Clumsiness – I was walking out to my car on Tuesday and didn’t see a depression in the parking lot. I twisted my ankle severely and went down hard. The next day my ankle was the size of a football and turning purple. Nothing is broken or torn, but I won’t be running a marathon anytime soon.

New Toys – Besides my new flash, I picked up a remote flash kit so I can put my flash unit somewhere else and trigger it from the camera. That allows me to shoot from one side of the subject while the flash lights the other.
