In light of yesterday’s carnage ay NIU, I can find very little upside to this week. Let’s hope next week is better. My thoughts are with those wounded in the attack and the families of those who died.

After being in “academia” almost all of my life, either as a student or a teacher, I cannot imagine heading off to class and not coming back to whatever home may be. It is incomprehensible to me. I think of the lives lost, snuffed out for no reason at all, and I cannot stop the tears.
