The one thing I believe in these days is that there is no longer any such thing as dynasties. You know who Jonathan Papelbon reminded me of last year? Eric Gagne when he was in LA. Fans are fickle, sure, but so are owners and, more importantly, so is talent. I think it’s more likely that we’ll see another team like the 2005 White Sox, who caught lightning in a bottle and had everything just happen to come together at the right time, than we are to see a repeat WS winner any time soon.
I still love the idea of a Wrigley-Fenway World Series, though, so best of luck to the BoSox. 🙂
