Ups and Downs of the week.
Marco Scutaro – Welcome to the Red Sox, Marco.
Patriots – What an embarrassment against New Orleans.
Positano – Another webcam with awesome images.
New Laptop – Dell Latitude Z600. It’s light as a magazine but has a 16″ screen. So far, pretty impressive. I’m liking Windows 7, too.

What’s the laptop? Looks pretty slick from the picture. I got a new Lenovo T400 from work, and it had Windows 7 on it initially, but I had to have them wipe it and put Vista on it because the wireless didn’t work with 7. (This is the first time I’ve used Windows at all in about 3 years, and the first time I’ve used any version since XP, and I gotta say… yuck! 😛 )

D’oh!! Forgot to include that in the post. Corrected now. There are several things about Windows 7 I like and several I don’t. It boots up very quickly and some of the gadgets are useful. The little notification popups from the lower right tray flash by way too quickly to actually read, so that’s an annoyance. And I still like the classic Windows Start Menu which you can’t revert to in Windows 7.
In the end, though, MS will be forcing the issue by ending support for XP, so it’s time to move on. I wish they’d come out with a Windows 7 Lite version with fewer gizmos. I like simple and quick.
And I agree, Vista is horrible.

I gotta admit that Windows 7 seemed pretty slick for the day and a half that I used it. I was really impressed with how quickly it would wake up from suspend mode, especially. If the wireless driver gets fixed I’m almost certainly going to switch back.
That laptop looks incredible. You may have just sold one for them!
