I bought a Canon 430 EX II flash. It’s very adjustable and can either wash out the scene or light it gently. I think I’m going to have fun learning how to use it. My poor cats will be victims, though.

We have a couple of these cat trees in our house and the cats love them. As you can see, the trees take quite a beating, but they’re cheap enough, so they get replaced every now and then. Kiki was particularly playful this morning, so I caught some of the action.

Ups and Downs of the Week

Heat Wave – Enough of this. Summer is supposed to be ending this weekend. Thank God.

Red Sox – They lost the series to the Yankmees and then lost to the Rangers tonight. Now they’re in second place. They really need to fill the holes in their pitching staff. Although to be fair, even though they got bombed tonight, they didn’t score a single run. You cannot ever win a game if you fail to score at least one run.

Four Day Weekend – I really needed this break. Although I’m still doing work on the phone and through remote desktop. Just can’t get away completely.

Hurricane Irene – Practically washed Vermont away. Nasty storm.

I took today off and stayed home with the kitties. Here are a few shots from today.

Someone fenced in acres and acres of corn. It’s like a giant corn gulag. I can only surmise that the neighbors got sick of long dead baseball players coming out of the corn at night to play baseball in on their lawns.

I was outside trying to get pics of some of the old WWII planes flying around for the local airshow and I got bored waiting for the planes to fly by. This wasp was busy building a new nest under the overhang that covers our front walkway. She didn’t seemed too pleased with me taking her picture.
