The days are getting just long enough so I can catch some sunsets again on my way home.

It’s supposed to rain tomorrow and the clocks go back on Sunday, so it will be dark for most of my commute from now until spring. But it’s been a great week for sunsets.

More fun with the sun today.

We were very much unaffected by the nastiness that the storm named Sandy laid on the northeast. We got some wind today and some clouds last night and today. But those clouds were loaded with cold air and ice crystals and they made for some interesting skies.
Last night’s full moon was muted by the high cloud layer, but the clouds produced a nice effect.
Today the ice crystals produced a couple of sun dogs.
And a spectacular sunset.

I’ve used this shed as a digital target before. Tonight the sunset was blocked by clouds, but the view to the east was pretty nice.

The sky was gray flannel overcast all day today until just before sunset. It cleared off to the west just in time to see the sun drop below the horizon.
